Golden Quartz in Sculptural Form

How does Citrine form?

Citrine is a variety of quartz distinguished by its characteristic yellow to golden colouring. Its warm tones are associated with trace amounts of iron and geological processes involving heat within the crystal structure.

Quartz develops over immense geological periods as silica-rich fluids move through cavities and fractures within rock. Changes in temperature, pressure, chemistry, and surrounding minerals influence the final appearance of the crystal, creating individual variations in colour, transparency, and internal structure.

Natural Citrine is comparatively uncommon, making specimens with attractive colour and character especially desirable.

What is Citrine?

Citrine belongs to the quartz mineral family and shares the same fundamental mineral composition as clear quartz, smoky quartz, and amethyst.

Its colours can range from delicate pale yellow through warm honey and golden shades to deeper amber tones. When polished, Citrine interacts beautifully with light, revealing natural internal veils, inclusions, fractures, and subtle colour variations.

The name Citrine derives from the French word citron, meaning lemon, referring to the stone's distinctive yellow colouring.

The Beauty of a Free-Form

Unlike a perfectly symmetrical cut, a free-form is shaped individually around the natural character of the stone. The aim is to reveal its most beautiful qualities while allowing the original material to influence the final silhouette.

In this piece, the combination of the pointed upper formation and organic contours creates a balance between natural crystal geometry and careful craftsmanship.

No two free-form specimens can ever be exactly alike, making each piece a truly individual object.

A Natural Geological Masterpiece

At 1.09 kg, this Citrine Free-Form has a substantial yet refined presence. Presented on its minimalist display stand, the complete piece reaches 17.5 cm in height and weighs 1.36 kg.

The elevated presentation emphasizes its sculptural shape while allowing light to interact with the golden tones and internal structures of the stone.

Whether selected for a mineral collection or displayed as a sophisticated decorative object, this Citrine Point Free-Form – Extra Quality combines geological beauty, individual craftsmanship, and the warm elegance of golden quartz.
