Deep within the Earth, mineral-rich water moved slowly through cavities, fractures and spaces within rock. Under the right geological conditions, dissolved calcium carbonate began to crystallize.

Over time, crystal after crystal developed, growing alongside and across one another to create the remarkable formation visible today.

The result is Calcite — a natural calcium carbonate mineral (CaCO₃) known for the extraordinary variety of crystal forms it can produce.

How Calcite Crystals Are Formed

Calcite forms when calcium-rich mineral solutions circulate through rock and conditions allow calcium carbonate to crystallize.

As the mineral develops, individual crystals can grow in different directions, creating complex geometric structures, overlapping formations and beautifully defined crystal faces.

Changes in the surrounding environment during growth can influence the size, clarity, colour and structure of the crystals. This means that no two natural Calcite clusters develop in precisely the same way.

Every angle reveals another part of the geological process that created the specimen.

What makes this Calcite Cluster particularly striking is its sculptural structure.

Individual crystals rise from the formation in an organic arrangement, creating a fascinating contrast between precise natural geometry and irregular mineral growth.

Soft shades of white, cream and translucent tones allow light to interact with the crystal surfaces, highlighting subtle variations in texture, depth and structure.

Nothing about this formation was designed or arranged by hand.

The Calcite Cluster itself stands approximately 24 cm high and 12 cm wide, weighing 1.32 kg. Presented on its display stand, the complete piece reaches approximately 26 cm high and weighs 1.98 kg.
